Welcome to HandyBro ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Name and contact information (email address, phone number)
  • Business information (company name, address, license numbers)
  • Account credentials (username, password)
  • Subscription payment information: HandyBro subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Subscription payment details are handled directly by these app stores; HandyBro does not receive or store them.
  • Client payment information: When a contractor enables online client payments, customer payments are processed by Stripe via Stripe Connect Express. HandyBro does not see or store full card numbers or bank account details.
  • Client information you enter into the app

Project Data

When using our estimation features, we collect:

  • Project descriptions and specifications
  • Photos and images you upload
  • Cost estimates and proposals you create
  • Client feedback and responses

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Usage data (features used, time spent in app)
  • Log data (IP address, browser type, access times)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain our services
  • Generate AI-powered cost estimates

4. Email Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive email communications from HandyBro, including but not limited to:

  • Transactional emails (account verification, password resets, payment receipts)
  • Service updates and feature announcements
  • Tips, guides, and educational content related to your trade
  • Promotional offers and special deals
  • Surveys and feedback requests

You may opt out of non-essential (marketing and promotional) emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us at contact@handybro.app. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you transactional emails related to your account and use of the Service.

5. AI and Data Processing

HandyBro uses artificial intelligence to analyze project descriptions and generate cost estimates. When you use our AI features:

  • Your project data is processed by our AI systems to generate estimates
  • We may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our AI models
  • Your specific project details are not shared with other users
  • AI-generated estimates are suggestions and should be verified by professionals

6. Information Sharing

We may share your information with:

  • Your Clients: Proposal and invoice information you choose to send
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: HandyBro subscriptions are billed by Apple (iOS) and Google (Android). Subscription payment details are handled directly by these app stores under their respective privacy policies.
  • Stripe: Online client payments through Stripe Connect Express. When a contractor enables online payments, onboarding information required to verify the connected account (legal name, address, date of birth, bank account, and tax identifiers such as SSN or EIN) is collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Other Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate our services (hosting, analytics, email, SMS)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. App Subscriptions

HandyBro subscriptions are sold and billed exclusively through the mobile app stores:

  • iOS: Apple App Store via Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Android: Google Play Billing.

Your subscription payment method, billing address, and purchase history for HandyBro subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies and terms. HandyBro does not receive or store your subscription card or payment details — we only receive a subscription status indicator (active / trial / cancelled) used to unlock paid features.

8. Online Client Payments via Stripe Connect

Separately from app subscriptions, HandyBro lets contractors accept online card payments from their own clients on the public proposal and invoice pages. This feature is powered by Stripe Connect Express. The contractor is the merchant of record for those payments; HandyBro acts only as a payment facilitator.

What information Stripe collects

When a contractor enables online payments, Stripe collects onboarding information directly from the contractor in order to verify the connected account, satisfy KYC / Know-Your- Customer requirements, and enable payouts:

  • Legal name and date of birth
  • Business name, address, and phone number
  • Tax identifier (SSN, EIN, or equivalent)
  • Bank account information for payouts
  • Identity verification documents requested by Stripe

This information is collected and stored by Stripe — not by HandyBro. HandyBro only stores a reference to the resulting Stripe connected-account ID and the high-level account status (e.g., onboarding complete, payouts enabled).

How customer payments are processed

  • Customer card details are captured directly by Stripe Elements in the customer's browser and never pass through HandyBro servers. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor.
  • Payments are routed as Stripe destination charges on-behalf-of the contractor's connected account; funds settle to the contractor's Stripe balance and are paid out to the contractor's bank account by Stripe.
  • HandyBro stores a payment record per transaction containing the Stripe payment intent / charge IDs, amount in cents, currency, status, and refund total — used to display payment history in the app and reconcile invoice balances. We never store full card numbers, CVCs, or bank account numbers.
  • HandyBro emails the customer a payment receipt after a successful payment.
  • Refunds and disputes are managed by the contractor in their Stripe dashboard; HandyBro syncs the resulting state via Stripe webhooks.

Use of Stripe is also governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy, the Stripe Services Agreement, and the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls and employee training

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your data at any time. Some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
